Helping people to take control of their mental health and wellbeing
My name is Luke Smith and I am a qualified integrative counsellor (MBACP) and EMDR therapist (PG certificate). As well as my private work I work within the NHS health psychology service and as a visiting lecturer at Newman University. I help clients with a variety of needs to overcome difficulties in their lives and improve their mental health. I have a true passion for helping those who struggle with their mental health and treat it as a huge honour and privilege when people choose to put their trust in me to do so. I have been in clinical practice since 2020 and have over 20 years experience of working with both children and adults who are seeking to improve their mental health.
Counselling is a talking therapy used to treat emotional distress with the overall aim of improving mental health and well-being.
As a member of the BACP, I work strictly within the ethical standards and guidelines to provide safe, integrative therapy to those wishing to get help with any social, emotional and mental health issues they may be experiencing.
As an integrative counsellor, I work with people to help them process thoughts and feelings to enable them to become the very best version of themselves.
I recognise that everyone is different and they are treated as such. Working in a way that suits you and your needs, we will use an approach that is best suited to you as an individual. This may involve exploring past experiences, behaviours and thought processes whilst looking at your mental health as a whole. We will work together to develop strategies that will allow you to move forward from issues that may be affecting you.
